Help Me Choose My Wallpaper for My Maine House

Oct 14, 2024Oct 14, 2024

The countdown has begun and I am almost ready to move into my new/old Maine house. I say old because it's 88 years old and desperately needed a facelift.

I am now at the stage where the list of things that we need to do is getting shorter and shorter.

In order to get into our home we still need to complete the following tasks, paint the first floor, install the flooring in the first floor, cover the entire house with trim, crown molding, and lastly wallpaper my bay-window wall! And that is what I need your help with today.

You may think this list is a lot, but for someone who started as a home owner, knowing absolutely nothing about anything, this is short and easy!

Let's talk wallpaper. There are different views on "statement walls" now a days. Many interior designers, like my favorite Arvin Olano, are saying to stay away from them. But me, I make my own rules. Arvin also suggested to make sure that if you do indeed choose a statement wall to make sure that the room blends well. I am a blending queen.

The process, so far has been super overwhelming because their are too many choices. I mean, I didn't own a winter jacket for 10 years because I couldn't handle the variety. So obviously, this is a decorating conundrum.

My Moms, my wife and my best friend Katie have been so much help. I truly believe that the most important thing to do when buying and renovating your new house is surrounding yourself with trusted support.

Also going to trusted companies to help support your interior dreams makes all the difference and I can't thank, Lewiston Paint & Wallpaper enough for their assistance and variety of wallpapers provided to us!

Below, I have created my top wallpaper picks for you to view. Once I choose I will update you on what the interior of the living room looks like. There is nothing better than before and after pictures!
